This is one of my all time favorite recipes from growing up. It is very sentimental and so delicious. It is also a good and yummy ways to use up all of those over ripe bananas.
Black Bottom Banana Bars
1/2 c Butter (softened)
1 c Sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium bananas)
1 1/2 c Flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/4 c cocoa powder
1/2 c chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg. Blend in bananas. In a separate bowl combine four, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and add to banana mixture. Divide batter in half and add cocoa powder to half of the mixture, and chocolate chips to the other half of the mixture (not the cocoa powder mixture). Put the chocolate batter into the pan first and spread it out into the bottom of the pan. then put the banana chocolate chip mixture on top. Bake it in a 9×13 pan at 350 for 25 min.
